The Sun Country Super Team Option offers teams a chance to compete for added money at the Sun Country Championship Tournament. Super Team Option participants accumulate points, based on the order of finish in the Qualifying Tournaments and the Bonus Tournament. One hundred percent (100%) of the Super Team entry fees, accumulated throughout the tournament year, is awarded to the forty (40) teams that qualify for the Championship.
1. The Super Team Option entry fee is $60 per team for each tournament entered. Teams must enter the Sun Country tournament in order to be eligible to enter the Super Team Option.
2. Ten (10) teams are selected from the four (4) areas of competition listed below. These forty (40) teams comprise the “The Super Team Top 40” and are eligible to compete for the Super Team Pot at the Championship.
The top 10 Overall Division Qualifiers. These 10 qualifiers are selected by counting the total point accrual from all tournaments entered, including the 4 Qualifying Tournaments from each division and the Bonus Tournament, a total of nine (9) tournaments.
The top 10 Eastern Division Qualifiers. The top 10 Eastern Divisions qualifiers, who did not qualify through the Overall or Western Division competition, are selected by counting the total point accrual from the best four tournament finishes, provided the team has competed in a minimum of three (3) Eastern Division tournaments. After meeting the three tournament minimum qualification requirement, the best four point totals are counted, regardless of the division they were scored in.
The top 10 Western Division Qualifiers. The top 10 Western Divisions qualifiers, who did not qualify through the Overall or Eastern Division competition, are selected by counting the total point accrual from the best four tournament finishes, provided the team has competed in a minimum of three (3) Western Division tournaments. After meeting the three tournament minimum qualification requirement, the best four point totals are counted, regardless of the division they were scored in.
The top 10 Bonus Tournament Qualifiers. The top 10 Bonus Tournament finishers, who entered the Bonus Tournament Super Team Option and did not qualify from the Overall, the Eastern, or the Western Divisions, are selected.
3. Eastern and Western Divisions 10 members selection will alternate years. ( One division will select first one year and the other division will be first the next year.) The East division 10 qualifiers will be selected first in 2008.
4. Points are awarded, based on the order of finish in each tournament entered, beginning with 300 points for 1st, 299 for 2nd , 298 for 3rd, etc. down to the lowest placing finisher entered in the Super Team competition.
5. The Bonus Tournament may be used in four ways to qualify for the Super Team Championship. Second, Bonus Tournament points can be used as one of the four best tournaments in either the Eastern or Western Division competitions. Third, the Bonus Tournament counts as one of the tournaments in the Overall division. And forth, the top 10 finishers in the consolation tournament, that did not qualify through the Eastern, Western or Overall competition, will also qualify for the Championship, provided they have entered a minimum of three tournaments from within either the East or the West divisions in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 2 above.
